Primary Medicine and Specialty Care Services help veterans prevent and manage acute and chronic disease through a variety of programs:

Specialty Care

Specialty Care Outpatient Services:

  • Orthopedics
  • Podiatry
  • Urology
  • Optometry
  • Audiology (for eligible veterans)
  • Dental (for eligible veterans)
  • Referrals for Specialty Care, as needed.

Community Based Outpatient Clinics (CBOC) in Brainerd and Montevideo

  • Community Based Outpatient Clinics provide health care to  veterans near their homes. For more information call the Eligibility office at (320) 255-6340

Clinic Appointments

Clinic appointments are pre-scheduled. Veterans receive an appointment letter approximately 30 days prior to their apointment. To reschedule an appointment, please call (320) 255-6339.

Telephone Care (Triage)

Telephone Care is provided by nurse practitioners who can assist you with medical questions or concerns that may arise between clinic visits.  After the nurse reviews your problem, he/she may:

  • Refer you to your local emergency room.
  • Encourage you to come to the Urgent Care Clinic.
  • Schedule an appointment with your doctor.
  • Give you instructions to follow for self care.
