VA virtual care options can make it easier and safer to receive care from your providers. Here are some ways to help prevent the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19) by accessing VA care virtually. There are several ways to keep in touch with your provider to include: 

Video or Telephone Appointments

Rather than going to a VA facility, you can receive care at home with a video or phone appointment. To set up a VA Video Connect or phone appointment, send your care team a secure message on My HealtheVet. Get started with VA Video Connect.

Chat with Your Care Team

Veterans who receive care within the VA Midwest Healthcare Network are eligible to use VA Health Chat to receive medical advice, refill VA prescriptions, and send non-urgent messages to your health care team at participating facilities. Prescription Refills

Request prescription refills, and order and ship medications to your home using My HealtheVet, VA Health Chat, or the Rx Refill mobile app. Download the Rx Refill app.

Text Message Reminders

Annie App’s Coronavirus Precautions protocol sends you automated text messages with information about COVID-19. This Annie protocol helps you monitor for any symptoms and can assist you if you need to contact your VA facility for care. Enroll in Annie’s COVID-19 protocol.

Secure Messaging

With My HealtheVet, VA’s online patient portal, you can send online secure messages to your VA health care team to ask them nonurgent health questions. You can also cancel or request appointments. Register for My HealtheVet.

Home Telehealth

For Veterans recommended for home isolation or quarantine, your provider may use remote monitoring devices to assess your condition while you’re at home. Learn more about home telehealth.
