Travel Pay Claims moving online Nov. 2
Veterans can file and track travel pay claims through a new web-based portal, making filing a travel pay claim easier than ever.
VA’s Beneficiary Travel Program Launches New Online Portal for Reimbursement Claims
Beginning Nov. 2, 2020, St. Cloud VA HCS Veterans, caregivers, and beneficiaries who are eligible for reimbursement of mileage and other travel expenses to and from approved health care appointments can now enter claims in the new Beneficiary Travel Self-Service System (BTSSS). BTSSS is a web-based portal that simplifies the current claim submission (travel pay) process for beneficiaries with the following advantages:
- Beneficiaires can submit travel claims online 24/7, 365 days a year through a computer or phone (no in-person kiosk visit is required)
- Track the status of submitted claims
- Reduce the processing and payment time for submitted claims
A step-by-step User Guide is available to guide you through the new travel pay claim process.
Visit AccessVA to select submit a travel claim by clicking on the "Veteran Travel Claim Entry" button, and logon using a DS Logon account. You will need to establish a DS Logon in order to submit a travel claim with this new process. What is a DS Logon? A DS Logon is an ID issued by DoD that will allow Veterans and caregivers access to many DoD and VA sites with one username and password. If you need a DS Logon ID, log into Need a DS Log on? to get started.

Veterans Transportation Service (VTS) Provides Rides to and from Medical Appointments
VTS provides no-cost ride services from the Veteran’s home to the St. Cloud VA Health Care System (STCVAHCS) and/or to care appointments in the community referred by or through the St. Cloud VA Health Care System. Services are generally granted on a first-come, first-served basis due to limited VTS vehicle capacity. VTS vehicles generally travel within a 50 mile radius of the St. Cloud VA but may go farther, including to the Minneapolis VA Medical Center, if scheduling permits.
A spouse or attendant is permitted to ride in a VTS vehicle when arrangements are made in advance and their presence is deemed necessary to assist the Veteran.
Advance reservations need to be made at least 48 hours in advance by calling the Veteran Transportation Service (VTS) Office at (320) 654-7622.
