St. Cloud VA Community Living Center Receives 3 Stars in Initial Rating
June 14, 2018
On June 12, VA publicly released initial Community Living Center Compare data for its 130 community living centers, or nursing homes. The St. Cloud VA CLC received an overall star rating of 3 out of 5 stars.
“Our dedicated staff provide comprehensive and compassionate care to our Veterans, and are committed to continuous improvement,” said Janette Neumann, Nurse Administrator of Extended Care and Rehabilitation at the St. Cloud VA Health Care System.
This is VA’s first public release of CLC Compare data, which replicates the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid (CMS) five-star rating method for private sector nursing homes as closely as possible. VA’s use of the ratings is intended to allow Veterans to compare VA facility performance to community nursing homes.
The CLC Compare rating is applicable to VA nursing homes, and is distinct from the VA’s Strategic Analytics for Improvement and Learning (SAIL) ratings, which portray overall medical center performance.
VA intends to post the annual ratings of all VA nursing homes on its public access and quality reporting website at https://www.accesstocare.va.gov, alongside ratings of private sector nursing homes participating in VA’s contracted community nursing home program.
“Now that VA has made a commitment to gathering accurate quality and comparative data on its nursing homes, we are pleased to begin adding that important information to our transparency portfolio for the benefit of Veterans in making their health care choices,” said Acting VA Secretary Peter O’Rourke.
Veteran and their families who have questions about accessing nursing home care may contact the St. Cloud VA CLC Access Coordinator at 320-252-1670, Ext. 6414.
