Suicide Prevention Coalition Meeting Scheduled in West Central Minnesota

September 15, 2020

A meeting to form a suicide prevention coalition in West Central Minnesota is planned on Sept. 18, from 1 to 2:30 p.m., at the Chippewa County Administration Building, located at 629 N. 11th St., Suite 9, in Montevideo. The meeting will be held in the basement of the administration building or attendees can join remotely. Those desiring to attend remotely can contact Laura.Kunstleben@va.gov for remote attendance details. 

The suicide prevention coalition will use community-driven and evidence-based practices to prevent suicide and help those considering suicide receive the care and services they need. This coalition aims to help the general population, including but not limited to Veterans. 

The coalition is seeking members from various backgrounds such as survivors and family and friends whose lives have been touched by suicide or suicide attempts, health care agencies, first responders, faith-based and community-based organizations, local employers, and anyone passionate about making a positive impact in ending suicide in their community.
